Human Rights Campaign, Tom- The Token Gay Friend (Wedding)
A group of females and one man are sitting around on a patio talking. The man asks, "So, has anybody heard from Phoebe?" Then, the words "Tom! The Token Gay Friend" flash onto the screen.
One of the girls replies, "Yes, and the wedding reception is going to be outside." Another says,"Oh, beautiful." Tom reacts by saying, "You guys are so lucky just to have your relationships legally recognized, you know?"
There is an awkward moment of silence and the girls look perplexed. Then they all shout
"Gay wedding!" enthusiastically. The girls beg Tom to be involved in his wedding, saying "I want to be a bridesmaid!" and "Can I give you away?"
Tom looks confused. The voiceover continues, "Feel like you're not getting through, Tom? Try the Human Rights Campaign for tips on getting the message across to friends and family."
