I feel there is a disconnect between these two subjects. I really don't buy the image of them as a gay couple. They look more like buddies, one perhaps a bit fem but still it doesn't read as a gay "couple". Also, holding hands is symbolic but you can barely see their hands. Instead they look like amputees. I appreciate the liberal effort but the art direction and weak tag line did not paint the picture with clarity. I had no idea of the ad's objective.

This ad, in it's progressive nature, captures the true essence of living free: free to work, free to travel, free to be. Amex being the most featured, ominpresent brand in the market has taken on a new, important role in helping LGBT citizens who own and operate small business achieve new heights, all the whilst remaining true to their identity.

The world is a large enough place for everyone to succeed. And if AMEX provides leveraging power to do so, then kudos to the people behind this spirited campaign.
