Focus on the Family, More Than Tolerance, I Wanted Freedom

The Washington Post ran this ad for its "ex-gay" conference featuring Amy
Tracy, a former lesbian who became a Christian in 1995 and tried to swear off her sexuality. She had been a high-profile D.C. feminist as press secretary for the National Organization for Women.

Gay newspaper The Washington Blade, had been asked by the group to carry the ad but it was rejected by its publisher, citing a
policy adopted in 1999. William Waybourn, president of Window Media LLC, which publishes the Washington Blade, said that "we will not knowingly do business with companies and organizations that discriminate against lesbians and gay men."

Around 14,000 people have attended the Focus on the Family conferences to date, the group said.
