Two stories unfold at once: a young woman falls in love with another woman, while a young man brings his boyfriend home to meet his family at Christmas.
The man's aunt has a look of fear on her face after he introduces his boyfriend and in flashback, we see that she was the young woman but got scared of her sexuality when everyone at the club was looking at her with the other young woman and she runs away.
Now, she finds herself longing for that time and reaches out to text her former amor to say that she's never forgotten her. Then she walks over to her nephew, whom she had kept a distance during dinner, and grabs him hard for a hug to say she is proud of him.
Emotionally, the hug with her nephew merges into a memory of hug with her lost girlfriend from the past. Just then, her ex-girlfriend texts her back to say it's great to hear from her.
The final text reads "It's never too late to listen to your heart."
