Honda Motor Co., Jack Goes Big
Driving around, Sean Hayes as Jack McFarland complains to his agent Myrna on the car phone that she's not getting him the kinds of roles that he wants. He appears in various silly audition outfits, including Marie Antoinette with hair sticking through the sun roof, while eating cake. "They're just not me! Do you even get that my brand is sophisticated, upscale, and yet a little surprising?"
Then she says, "What about a role as a beautiful golden trophy in a Honda Accord commercial?" Jack responds, "Myrna! It's like you're can see my soul!"
He then shows up in a tight, golden outfit to play Oscar the Academy Award and enters an audition room. He introduces himself to the woman at the desk and she asks, "Do you have a last name or is it just Jack?" echoing his former tagline. He pauses for a beat, then says, "The second one."
Jack then sits down next to none other than The Bachelor's Nick Viall (with no reference to The Bachelor), and leans over to say "You do know this is for a voiceover audition, right?" Pausing a moment, Jack responds "Ya! Yes I do..."
He later talks again on the car phone to his friend Karen (Megan Mullally), who asks, "Why don't think you got it, poodle?" Proudly, he says, "In acting, sometimes you can be too handsome for a part. Especially in voiceovers."
The dog ends with him saying he meet someone who's really handsome -- a golden retriever in the back seat.
Alison Tarrant, NBCUniversal’s EVP-client partnerships, told Adweek. “Fans cannot get enough Will & Grace and an initiative like this allows us to use storytelling to enhance our viewers’ experience in partnership with Honda.”
