Coca-Cola Co., America the Beautiful - Super Bowl
Courting controversy during the Super Bowl, this commercial features the song "America the Beautiful" accompanied by luscious scenery. Sung first in English, the next verse is followed by a Spanish line, and then other various languages including Tagalog, Hindi, Senegalese French and Hebrew.
Then late on in the ad, a probable male couple is shown skating together with what may be their daughter.
It appears to be a balancing act for Coca-Cola, which has come under heavy fire for its continued plans to sponsor the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics in Russia, which has run full speed ahead with anti-gay laws and rhetoric. Coke also stumbled this year in South Africa with a website that banned users from using the word "gay" custom printed onto a Coke can.
