Jackie Young was Vice Speaker of the Hawaiian House of Representatives from 1992-94, and she addresses the camera by saying, "You might have heard that a yes vote on the constitutional amendment will stop same-sex marriage. That's simply not true. A yes vote sends the issue right back to the legislature. It will give them the power to overrule our Supreme Court and deprive some of our citizens of their basic rights. That's just plain wrong.

"A threat to the constitutional rights of any one group is a threat to the rights of us all. Vote no on the constitutional amendment November 3rd."
