Key West, which has a years-long history of advertising to the gay community in print magazines, takes part in the historic debut of LOGO, the 24-hour gay channel from Viacom with this commercial.

Opening on the image of an old fashioned tail sails ship, with a gospel song in the background, a narrator intones, "The freedom to think... The freedom to dream..." A series of shots includes a photo of former city resident novelist Ernest Hemingway, a bass player next to a boat dock, a painter holding her painting up near the ocean, a woman standing in front of an old church.

Then, a middle-aged male couple with an arm around the other appears and the narrator says, "The freedom to be."

Next up is a fire juggler, a concert performance on the beach, an image of ornithologist John James Audubon, a potter, a diver, a female couple walking arm-in-arm, a fantastically hand-painted Volkswagen bug, and a painter.

"For over 100 years, Key West has been inspiring greatness for one simple reason: where there is freedom, there is expression."

The closing graphics call out Ket West as "The fabulous gay and lesbian destination." http://www.fla-keys.com/gaykeywest 877-879-4237
