WHERE SUCCESSFUL ADVERTISING MEETS LGBT EQUALITY

Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation, History-Two Brides

Members:

This ad is one of several submissions into the GLAAD "I DO" competition. “I DO” is a national competition to create the best 30-second television commercial in support of marriage equality for same-sex couples.

In this particular ad an old rendition of "Let Freedom Ring" is playing the in background, over black and white images from history that document women's right to vote and segregation in schools.

The words "What took us so long?" come across the screen over footage of women marching.

After some footage of marches and significant moments in history, the screen goes black and the word "Equality" appears. The camera then cuts to a beautiful lesbian wedding in full color. The words "One nation" float across the screen over the footage of the wedding.

The tagline is: "Freedom for all."
