The cast of the popular The N series "South of Nowhere" appears in a PSA that was broadcast during the second season premiere. The four main cast members talk about friendship -- "where you have each other's backs and can confide in and support one another." They go on to say, "and if a friend confides in you that he or she is gay lesbian or queer, they are expecting you to be a friend...it's the 21st century, and it's no big deal."

"South of Nowhere" premiered on The N in 2005 and was the subject of controversy over the teenage lesbian character Spencer Carlin.
