WHERE SUCCESSFUL ADVERTISING MEETS LGBT EQUALITY

Pfizer, Birdhouse

Members:

Two young women sit very close next to each other as they address the camera. Their relationship is never made clear, though they don't look enough alike to be siblings or family.

"When it comes to allergies, we're both 'pollen, cat, dust.' But her allergy medicine was only approved for the pollen," says one woman.

"So my doctor switched me to hers," says the other.

"She's always copying," the other says with a smile.

The women -- who seem to be nearly joined at the shoulder -- are then shown building a bird cage together, as their cat looks on.

The commercial was pulled for a short time, seemingly for the unexpected read of the women as lesbians, but returned without a word and continued to air.

I honestly thought they were sisters - aren't sisters always complaining about the other copying them?
