A drag queen enters the stage from behind the curtain, wearing a 1920s-era flapper outfit, complete with feather boa and a long pearl necklace. She announces to the crowded club, "When I'm an old woman, I shall wear...purple! With a red hat that doesn't go and doesn't suit me."
"I shall spend my pension on brandy and summer gloves and satin sandals and say, 'We have no money for .' I shall lay down on the pavement when I'm tired and gobble up samples at shops. And run my stick along public railings. And make up for the sobriety of my youth. I shall go out and in my sleepers in the rain. And pick flowers in other people's gardens. And learn to spit!"
Finally, the announcer says, "If it's not too conventional, get yourself a plan at The Pru."
