Narration: French bread has become chips.

Miwa: France Pan Kobo (The name of the product)

This commercial features Akihiro Miwa, the well-respected singer, actor and theater director in Japan as well as the well-respected drag queen.

Miwa started her career in singing as early as 1952. Along her career she has written more than 20 books and appeared on several films including Prince Mononoke as a voice actor. Today she has a weekly spiritual talk show aired in Japan in which she and her spiritual counselor listen to their guests' problems and give them a psychiatric treatment.

Having attempted a suicide as a teenager, she is also outspoken about the LGBT issues in Japan as well as war issues since her hometown, Nagasaki, was the ground zero for one of the atomic bombs dropped during the World War II.

As for this commerial, the catch is that the fact that Miwa is working at a convenience store is as surprising as french bread transformed into chips because she is such a famous and well respected person that no one would expect to see her there.
