WHERE SUCCESSFUL ADVERTISING MEETS LGBT EQUALITY

A series of vignettes in this champagne commercial includes two that are Gay Vague.

The first vignette has two women laying down on a blanket in a field together, an unusual situation in advertising. Middle sections have an opposite-sex couple about to kiss and a sexy woman in a bath. Then, the last vignette has two men in the back of a rowboat with a woman upfront -- another unusual arrangement.

In addition to the same-sex pairings, the casting choices also come off as somewhat gay looking. Particularly in the boat, the man at the very back (who is hard to see) appears gay.

While these descriptions may sound inexact, advertising is rarely about subtlety. A man is often either macho or sensitive, to serve the purpose of the message.
