WHERE SUCCESSFUL ADVERTISING MEETS LGBT EQUALITY

Cartier SA, Trinity Ring

Members:

While tense romantic music plays, a straight couple dance on a skyscraper rooftop, a group of friends ride crammed into a small convertible, two women make music together, and two men ride bicycles together.

"Mutual understanding beyond words. Witness our everlasting friendship," read the text under the two women. Everyone has a moment of embrace.

The advertisement ends with a question: "How far would you go for love?"

Cartier's Trinity ring, designed in 1924, is three combined bands: rose gold band (to mean true love), yellow gold (for fidelity), and white gold (to symbolize friendship).

Although the campaign is tied to the Qixi Festival, Chinese Valentine's Day, but Cartier said the two men were "father and son."
