WHERE SUCCESSFUL ADVERTISING MEETS LGBT EQUALITY

Exodus International, Gay? Unhappy?

Members:

In June 2005, Exodus launched this campaign to promote its ex-homosexual agenda. The billboard, which reads "Gay? Unhappy?" and sends onlookers to their website is subsequently parodied on an internet blog by Justin Watt. Another website, www.exgaywatch.com, posted Watt's parody on February 27th.

According to Southern Voice Online, "Liberty Counsel, a conservative legal group representing Exodus, sent Watt and Mike Airhart of Ex-Gay Watch cease and desist letters last week asking them to remove Watt's parody from their sites." Wyatt refused and challenged the matter in court.

The ad earns a Negative rating because it suggests homosexuality is a conscious choice and that happiness is around the corner for those willing to turn right and go straight.
