WHERE SUCCESSFUL ADVERTISING MEETS LGBT EQUALITY

ACT-UP Paris, Sexuality

Members:

This commercial for AIDS education from ACT UP Paris never aired as it was rejected by the government for being too racy. The ad carries a rough, sex-like shouting song amidst numerous pairings of people being amorous or having sex. Some shots are amusing, such as Tarzan and Jane, and others are steamy -- including a brief close-up clip of a male couple having intercourse.

The closing line, "Le sida n'est pas mort."

Talk about avant-garde, any art and film critic would have approved of this commercial to air. It's a shame it never did. Creative minds are hard to find.
