Politie - Dutch Police, Wrong Side

This is a recruitment ad for the Dutch police, which ran in gay media.

The ad spotter explains, in Holland you have the expression, "Hij is van de verkeerde kant" if someone is gay. Translation: "He is from the wrong side" -- it stands from the time when people found it difficult to simply use the word "gay."

Pictured with a handsome man, the ad text puts a spin on the old expression and reads, "Jij weet wel beter wat de verkeerde kant is," meaning "You know what the real wrong side is."
