WHERE SUCCESSFUL ADVERTISING MEETS LGBT EQUALITY

Bianco Footwear, He Didn't Know About Our Men's Collection - Henriette

Members:

Bianco Footwear asked a tranny union (TID) for help to find models and found six transvestites who were asked to participate. The six models used their own clothes and were used in calendars, postcards, posters, ads and, (after some lessons in catwalking) in several fashion shows around Denmark.

These ads appeared posters in the show store's 100 shops in Scandanavia's Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Iceland and Poland, as well as print ads in newspapers and weekly magazines. Feedback was measured in the Danish magazine Woman and the response among the readers was very positive.

Bianco also had a "Crossdresser of the Year" competition in all their shops, with many male participants.

This ad is categorised as neutral yet its tag line suggests that it is wrong to dress in women's clothing and if the model had "known" he would have chosen the "men's" range, this is just as offensive as some of those categorised as negative ads, as a viewer I do not know about the history of the ad and how it came about which should not affect the decision otherwise all gay characters should be played by gay actors and all straight characters should be played by straight actors in which case Rock Hudson would never had a career.
I wish there was scoring system instead, -15 through to 15 to help our understanding and also comments on the borderline ads as to why they have been positioned where they are
