WHERE SUCCESSFUL ADVERTISING MEETS LGBT EQUALITY

Jack Schwartz Shoes, Men's Room

Members:

A guy walks into a men's room at a dance club, between two guys already standing at urinals.

He unzips his fly and the other two guys turn and check him out. One looks over and calmly says, "nice" while the other turns and his eyes bug out. The one in the middle smiles and says thanks -- as the first one clarifies that he means the boots, which are now shown. The middle guy seems slightly let down at the clarification. (The second guy's amazement seems to imply he apparently was NOT looking at the shoes.)

At the end, a fourth guy walks up to the urinals, the other three look over and compliment him as well.

A pleasant neutral handling of an otherwise off-color concept.

This ad is similar to a later commercial for Dr. Pepper, where women and a doorman all stare at a handsome guy -- but it is later revealed that they're looking at all the dogs he's walking.

This commercial uses the same "joke" as the short lived, hilarious Pilot Pen Commercial (Men on Train). Let's hope this commercial does not suffer the same early death.
