University of Phoenix, Still I Rise

Aired during the Rio Olympics, this ad is built around the "Still I Rise" poem spoken by Maya Angelou and features Olympian Gail Marquis, who earned a silver in 1976 in Montreal with the women's basketball team.

The ad, starting off in "New York, 1968" when Marquis watches the Olympics on a black-and-white TV with her family, features different parts of Marquis' life. Later, she hustles to earn a degree while working on Wall Street. It also shows her and her wife, Audrey Smaltz (former Ebony Fashion Fair Commentator and CEO/founder of The Ground Crew) as they march together at a Gay Pride event. The titles at the end list her as a "World Champion, Wall Street Executive, Advocate, MBA Graduate Class of 2006."
