WHERE SUCCESSFUL ADVERTISING MEETS LGBT EQUALITY

This is one of the earliest transgender spots in which the joke is not the surprise that someone is trans (the ad title uses older terminology of "transsexual").

A woman sits very properly in a bright red outfit drinking tea in a stylish room. The ad appeared in Israel and she says in Spanish, "All my life I felt dissatisfied with my identity. So two weeks ago, I resolved to make the change. And now, I'm a new person." The punchline isn't that she's transgender, instead it is: "I speak Spanish like a real Spaniard."
