WHERE SUCCESSFUL ADVERTISING MEETS LGBT EQUALITY

Gay-Mobil parody, It Fits Anywhere!

Members:

A man is looking for his phone, which is ringing. He thoroughly feels the back of his pants to check if his phone is in one of the pockets. He puts his ear near a desk to see if the ringing could be from inside. We can see the degree of his comprehensive search through his reflection in a nearby mirror.

A man in a bathrobe, who had been sitting against the wall, gets up and moves somewhere else. The cell-phone's owner notices the ringing sound follows the man in the bathrobe. He gives the man a look and shakes his finger at him, grinning, in order to say, "Shame on you!"

The next shot is of his ear next to the bare behind of the man with the bathrobe. He touches the mans butt answer the phone. A shot of the pink phone appears on the screen as the voiceover explains its merits. The ad concludes with a shot of the man in the middle of an intense phone conversation, as the phone's host routinely remains bent over.

The ad earns a "Negative" rating because, while it is a parody, it relies on stereotypes for humor. The idea that a homosexual man would put a phone in his butt and that it would be regarded so nonchalantly by the phone's owner is not LGBT-friendly approach to humor.
