Liffrig for U.S. Senate, Kiss Off

Members:

"Here Comes the Bride" plays as a man and woman kiss on their wedding day, in this spot for U.S. Senate candidate Mike Liffrig, from North Dakota. Two similar heterosexual kisses follow, with each person smiling.

Two men are then shown at the altar, and a voiceover says, "With Senator Dorgan now supporting gay marriages…"

They are about to kiss, but before their lips meet, a buzzer sounds and the shot changes to a different group of a people: two men and a woman. The woman wears a wedding gown and a black flower in her hair. The young man to her right wears a leather jacket and gives the thumbs up sign as the man to left (who has a mullet) kisses her check.

"…Or whatever," continues the narrator, "you can kiss our North Dakota values goodbye," he says. "Or we can kiss Dorgan goodbye."

"Liffrig for Senate. Because this isn't California," concludes the ad, with another smiling bride and groom onscreen.

Liffrig received only 32% of the vote. Sen. Byron Dorgan, the Democratic incumbent, won the North Dakota Senate race.
