WHERE SUCCESSFUL ADVERTISING MEETS LGBT EQUALITY

Orbitz, Coco

Members:

Set in a generic office, with a long hallway of gray cubicle walls, drag queen Coco Peru incongruently runs down the hall, wearing an orange skirt with lavender blouse and scarf. She runs into one of the cubicles.

Then, bent over his desk, a man counts out loud.

Coco peaks out of her cubicle, holding a miniature rainbow flag. Then, so does James Getzlaff, star of Bravo's "Boy Meets Boy" gay dating reality program from 2003.

"Ready or not, here I come," announces the counting man, himself wearing shades of gray, as he stands up to leave his cubicle in what is obviously a game of hide-and-seek.

Hearing giggling and shh-ing sounds, the man quickly finds Coco, James and a woman in a PFLAG t-shirt hiding under a desk. "Gotcha," announces the man.

Narration, also from Coco Peru, then announces, "Orbitz makes it east to find gay-friendly travel. So you can celebrate with pride across planet Earth."

The commercial aired during gay-friendly programs on Bravo, such as "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" and elsewhere. It accompanies another spot where a man also plays hide-and-seek, this time with a seal.
