Microsoft Corp., Art of Harmony/Celebrate the Spirit of the Season
Featuring "Beauty in the World" by Macy Gray, this spot is introduced with the text, "This holiday season, we brought together a group of people who are making a difference in the world. This is their vision of hope, peace, and beauty."
Then a little girl (elementary school student Zea Bowling) is seen holding out a gay pride flag to someone at a rally, a Muslim woman hands out flowers in a park under the sign "Ask a Muslim" (poet and activist Mona Haydar), a young black girl (9-year-old Zianna Oliphant) is tearfully delivering a speech in association with the fatal shooting of Keith Lamont Scott by a Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officer, followed by a white police officer (Bobby White from Florida) playing basketball with black youth. Next, a young transgender woman (Jazz Jennings) gives a speech at a Human Rights Campaign event, then Migrant Offshore Aid Station emergency relief worker Christopher Catrambone.
They all work together on separate images that come together as a single digital image -- projected on a carousel in Brooklyn with the Manhattan skyline in backdrop.
The closing text says, "When the world seems divided, coming together can be a beautiful thing. Spread harmony."
