"Growing up, I was different from my family. Homosexuality wasn't really accepted, so I moved to New York City. And we spent a few years just not talking. Out of no where, my mom started a family group chat with all of us. And all the things we could never say to each other in person was easier to send in a group text.
Even though I've never lived this far away from my family, I've never felt more connected."
