In a mini documentary about Olympic skier Gus Kenworthy, which he self narrates, he talks about coming out in to his family and his small sometime of Telluride, Colorado.
"I felt like if they really new me, if they truly new me, maybe they wouldn't be as supportive, maybe they would be disappointed. Until that point I'd always thought it was something I would keep inside, and never tell anyone until after my ski career and then I could have a whole new life. I thought it was like going to isolate me, I thought I was going to stop getting scored well at contests; t would be awkward to come home to my hometown. And it was just none of those things."
