WHERE SUCCESSFUL ADVERTISING MEETS LGBT EQUALITY

Daniel Rouah Barber Shop, Boy Meets Girl

Members:

Walking down a dark alley, a woman with long brown hair is accosted by catcalls from classless men -- one even sticks out his tongue.

Intercut is a sexy blonde woman, who's just gotten out of the shower. In walks the woman from the alley, they immediately french kiss passionately.

In a fit of lust, the blonde rips off the wig of the other, revealing a now-almost-nude muscular guy.

Then he is seen in the barber's chair and his barber leans into the camera and says, "For the smoothest shave in town..." The blade is wiped clean of cream and it says Daniel Rouah of Baker Street.

This creates an ad you thought was lesbian but ultimately isn't.

I like ads where the viewer is invited to leer, but the reveal is met with a positive response.

This ad generally portrays men negatively, and it infers that "real men" should not have long hair.

Lots of ads in the "Surprise, She's a He" category tend to make the transgendered look like pranksters. This ad is different in that the girl isn't bothered about the fact that her boyfriend can assume an attractive, passable femme persona.
