Before Billie Jean King was an out lesbian, she was one of the most famous female tennis players on the circuit. She appears in this toothpaste ad for Colgate barefoot, with a cat, and, oddly, with a guitar instead of a tennis racquet.

She entered the tennis world in 1960, broke countless records and gender barriers and for more than two decades continued as a force in the game. In 1981 she was publicly outed by a former lover, which caused her to lose many endorsements.
