WHERE SUCCESSFUL ADVERTISING MEETS LGBT EQUALITY

RATP France, Gay Pride

Members:

This print ad for the Paris subway, RATP, showing two men from behind with their arms around each other, ran in daily newspapers including Liberation and Le Parisien the week before Gay Pride in 2000. It was part of a series that included showing a pregnant woman, as well as a few male-female couples.

In each, the map of the transit line is transformed into related symbols. For the gay men, the line resembles a red ribbon referring to the AIDS symbol (a Solidarite logo also runs at the bottom left), connecting the stations Denfert-Rochereau with Bastille.

The tagline translates to "A walk together."
