I think it’s wonderful! Again, when it works for me I don’t spend time focusing on the dynamics and details in dress and appearance (butch/femme/andro/other) as much as the meaning and feeling of celebration in society and in self, regardless if it’s not a reality head on today. It’s timeless with innocence, which is often not the first feeling that is successfully portrayed or conveyed, in lesbian advertising. It’s also enjoying the fact that indeed, women at this time were gay, did dance, did enjoy each other, and they did look like this. If it even provoked such a thought to someone who never entertained such an idea, it has paid for itself beyond its intent.
