A woman seems to be returning home from a late night of work. She finds a note on the counter accompanied by a flower that says, “My love, join me in the living room.” The woman makes her way to the living room and her friends yell “surprise!” The camera focuses briefly on the crowd of friends and a woman steps out to embrace her and says “Happy birthday, my love.” Off screen a narrator asks, “Does this change the way you thought 20 seconds ago? Fight against homophobia.”

This ad is one of three that is part of a campaign supported by Qubec’s Minister of Justice Bertrand St-Arnaud. The goal of the campaign is to combat homophobia and to have citizens reflect on their views of sexual diversity.
