This commercial is one of a series that follows Billy, who is about to get married and contacts all his old girlfriends, including his buddy Joey. In earlier segments, Joey cries over the news of the impending marriage, and in this one he appears to be maliciously trying to undo their marriage through rumors.

Joey: "Hello Billy...I heard Gracia was kidnapped, is that true?" Billy says no.

Joey: "What about the girlfriend of the senator?" Again, Billy says no. Joey continues, "With your marriage coming up, you are still getting these rumors, they are even written on the newspapers." Billy replies, "Yeah, even after we arrived here, rumors are still circulating around. Who do you think is spreading the rumors?"

Trying to sound innocent, Joey answers, "I don’t know…."

Officials at PLDT say that Billy wasn't necessarily supposed to be gay but intentionally left the possibility open. Because the campaign became so popular with the population, people began to think the characters were real people and rumors began to spread. This commercial is a joke about how seriously audiences have treated the ad campaign, but has been read by some as a malicious revenge by Joey to undo his marriage plans.

I don't see the "Rumors" ad as negative. It's just humorous, and I would say it's more of an equal representation, not negative. Please don't tell me we're losing our sense of humor....
