After a hard squash workout, one sweaty woman says to the other, "Mrs. Kato, you are truly beautiful. You look so young. Your skin is so young. It's alright with me if you become fond of me." She then delicately rubs her fingers down the other woman's sweaty neck and almost into her heaving cleavage.

The voiceover says, "The beautiful lady is Vitamin E & C Lucilla. To all Japanese wives Lucilla E & C & B12 & B6."

This commercial is unusually erotic --gay or straight -- for a culture not known for being openly sexual.

Hahaha, Japan? Not openly sexual? Japanese cartoons even frequently feature rape and hardcore sex, and children's shows are no exception.

This scene appears to be an allusion to the one in Emmanuelle (1974) where Jeanne Colletin attempts to seduce the beautiful, younger Sylvia Kristel who plays the Emmanuelle character.

Rachel , Toronto
I thought this was exceptionally erotic not only for Japan, but for North America, too. It's usually only European ads that are this honest. I did cringe at the text translation of the voice-over: "To all Japaneses 'wives,' etc.," but I wish American ads would stop using gay/lesbian themes in such cliche, "homosexual panic" ways. I'd rather they be more open and direct like this ad is and the majority of positive European ads are.

Mary , Riverside, NJ
Okay, either I'm blind, or everyone else is thinking in a sexual way, but I don't see how it's sexual? Nor do I see her go down to the breast, etc. Yeah, she shouldn't put her hands there, but it looks like she is infatuated with the lotion (the skin), not the women, to me. That is how I viewed it.

Anonymous , Louisville, KY
For Japan, this is definitely an erotic commercial. Read the translation of her words. The Japanese are usually more subtle than this. The "cartoons" you're thinking of are hard-core anime targeted towards frustrated Japanese adults.
