An old woman climbs up into her attic, going over old photos and playing with her wedding dress.

She asks in narration, "Do you remember your wedding day? Of course you do, one of the most important days of your life. You find the right man or woman, raise a family, and live the golden years together. Just like your mother and father. And those before them for centuries."

(This doesn't seem to account for a modern divorce rate over 50%, or the fact that fewer people centuries ago lived into "the golden years.")

While spinning and holding her wedding dress, she says, "The way marriage has ALWAYS been, the way it should ALWAYS be."

This campaign included a number of targeted spots, including others for African-Americans and Latinos.

The constitutional amendment passed, with 57% of voters supporting the measure -- as they did in 11 states during the November 2004 election -- but it was the weakest win of any state. Like 37 other states that already had laws defining marriage as only between a man and a woman, amendment supporters feared a court could toss aside the state law.
